Sony has revealed in its latest quarterly earnings report that the PlayStation 5 has now reached 80.3 million units shipped globally since launch. In addition, the company confirmed that Bungie’s highly anticipated extraction shooter ‘Marathon’ is scheduled to release before the end of March 2026.
The company also reported a decline in software sales year-over-year, but revenue from services like PlayStation Plus remained strong. Notably, while Sony has yet to announce a price cut for the PS5, the console’s momentum appears steady as it enters its fifth year on the market.

Sony is also continuing its strategy of multi-platform publishing, with more live-service games planned across console and PC. Bungie’s Marathon—reviving a cult classic IP—is expected to play a key role in this strategy.
The PS5 continues to perform well globally, despite a challenging market. We’re focused on delivering high-quality titles and expanding our live-service pipeline
