A new controversy has shaken the Counter-Strike 2 competitive community, following a leaked screenshot that appears to expose potential corruption in tournament operations.

According to reports, a manager from Complexity Gaming, one of North America’s premier esports organisations, has shared evidence suggesting that organisers of a VRS-sanctioned tournament are selling participation slots for $10,000.

The screenshot, which circulated on social media and esports forums, allegedly shows a conversation between a tournament organiser and a potential buyer, offering to sell a team slot in a VRS event for $10,000.

While the identity of the organiser has not yet been confirmed, esports insiders suggest the conversation involves smaller third-party tournament operators looking to monetise access to competitive stages.

This is not the first time match integrity and tournament access have come under scrutiny. With the explosion of Tier 2 and 3 CS2 tournaments globally, concerns about pay-to-play, match-fixing, and unauthorised slot swapping have been increasing. Valve has traditionally taken a hands-off approach to third-party events unless direct involvement was required.
