Riot Games and Tencent have committed a massive $200M investment into developing the competitive ecosystem for VALORANT Mobile — starting in China, but with global potential in sight.
Ahead of VALORANT Mobile’s full release in China, Riot Games and Tencent have announced an ambitious three-year plan to foster a robust esports scene built specifically for mobile platforms.

The roadmap includes national-level tournaments, open qualifiers, university leagues, and frequent co-branded events designed to attract both grassroots players and top-tier talent.
The rollout of VALORANT Mobile follows successful closed beta events across several Chinese regions. Riot has used this period to refine competitive tools and collect player feedback — a strategy that mirrors how VALORANT PC was iteratively built with esports in mind.
The game aims to recreate PC-level competition while building a player-centered, creativity-driven, esports-powered ecosystem that spans all skill levels
