SEGG Media, a growing force at the intersection of sports, entertainment, and gaming, has announced the $10 million acquisition of GXR — a transmedia company best known for its esports content, creator collaborations, and regional fan engagement platforms.
The acquisition marks a major move by SEGG Media to establish itself as a global leader in interactive sports media, combining GXR’s digital infrastructure with its own platform to launch a new flagship product: the Sports.com Super App.

At the core of the acquisition is a vision to create a “digital ecosystem for the modern sports audience”, integrating features from SEGG Media’s Sports.com with GXR’s video platform and fan network.
The Sports.com Super App is designed to centralize nearly every aspect of fan engagement — from livestreaming and community chat hubs, to fantasy gaming, real-time statistics, language-localized commentary, and e-commerce.
Acquiring the GXR platform and adding Paul Roy to the team allows us to accelerate our mission to deliver the world’s first fully immersive, unified sports and entertainment media app

With a phased global rollout scheduled for Q3 2025, SEGG Media has already inked its first commercial and broadcast partnership with India’s Super League Kerala — a football league with a strong youth and digital fan base. Negotiations are ongoing with other leagues across Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia.
