English football giant Man-City is diving deeper into the world of gaming, unveiling a slick promotional video for its eSports academy programme. The short film, created alongside City in the Community (CITC), shines a light on a programme that’s bridging the gap between traditional sports and competitive gaming.
The video, now live on Manchester City’s official website, features students and teachers hard at work in classes that lead to an esports BTEC qualification. Participants can snag a Level 2 Certificate in Esports after one year or shoot for the Level 3 Extended Diploma if they stick around for two.

The course covers everything from health and wellbeing for eSports athletes to broadcasting and hands-on training with popular titles used in major eSports tournaments.
The course not only equips students with the technical skills and industry knowledge needed for a career in eSports but also supports their personal development

As part of the club’s wider eSports efforts, which include FIFA tournaments and collaborations with global gaming initiatives, this new programme cements Manchester City’s role as a forward-thinking player in the competitive gaming space.
