Former narrative lead of BioShock 4, Liz Albl, has joined CD Projekt RED after a wave of layoffs at Cloud Chamber, caused by major production issues.
Albl left Cloud Chamber back in August, amid internal restructuring triggered by publisher 2K Games’ dissatisfaction with BioShock 4’s narrative progress.

Her arrival at CD Projekt RED reportedly places her in a senior writing role on the upcoming Cyberpunk 2 project, although specific details of her responsibilities have not been publicly disclosed.
During her tenure at Cloud Chamber, Albl had served as narrative lead on BioShock 4 for nearly three years. Before that, her portfolio included story-work on titles such as Ghost of Tsushima, Far Cry 5 and Watch Dogs: Legion.

Cloud Chamber’s internal shake-up saw the departure of studio head Kelley Gilmore and the reassignment of creative director Hogarth de la Plante into the publishing arm of 2K.

With this hire, CD Projekt RED appears to be reinforcing its teams for major upcoming RPGs, including Cyberpunk 2 and the yet-untitled The Witcher 4. The move suggests the Polish studio is doubling down on narrative ambitions as the industry heads into its next generation of blockbuster games.
