Activision has disclosed that more than 55,000 cheaters were impacted by their latest round of anti‑cheat mitigations in August. These efforts span across both casual and competitive modes in Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops 6.

Key actions include permanent bans for players caught boosting or forming unsanctioned teams during Ranked matches. In addition, suspected cheaters are now restricted from performing certain in‑game actions while their status is under review.

With Black Ops 7 on the horizon, Activision’s Ricochet anti‑cheat team is adding further layers of protection. Upcoming features will include hardware‑level security such as Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 to harden systems against cheat tools.

During the October beta, new tools for quicker detection and removal of cheaters will be tested, ahead of the full launch on November 14, 2025. Activision states that these changes are part of their broader strategy to “hit cheating at all levels”.
