According to reliable insider Tom Henderson (Insider Gaming), Ubisoft has cancelled the development of a sequel to Star Wars Outlaws — even before the first game’s release.
The sequel was reportedly planned as part of a multi-project contract between Ubisoft and Lucasfilm Games. However, sources suggest that Ubisoft has chosen not to pursue a direct continuation at this time.
The decision to cancel the sequel does not affect the release of Star Wars Outlaws itself, which is still on track to launch on August 30, 2024.
Ubisoft’s internal shift in priorities is reportedly focused on games with long-term monetization potential, such as live-service titles. The Reddit community also didn’t say “thank” such rumors.

Henderson’s sources believe that the performance of Star Wars Outlaws after launch could still influence whether the sequel is revisited later.
The game has generated strong early interest, but internal teams remain cautious, especially in light of Ubisoft’s recent restructuring and cost-cutting efforts.
