Ex-Astralis executive has revealed that legendary CS:GO player Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen was earning a monthly salary of €30,000 during his time on the team’s most dominant roster.

The information was shared by Jakob Lund Kristensen, co-founder of Astralis and former Managing Director of RFRSH Entertainment. He noted that during the peak of Astralis’ success—when they won four CS:GO Majors—some players commanded salaries that rivalled those in traditional sports.

This revelation underscores just how far top-tier esports had evolved by the late 2010s. With Astralis dominating the CS:GO scene and becoming a household name in competitive gaming, their players were among the best-compensated in the world.
That was probably what we earned the most, and then obviously, the whole sticker thing varied a lot from major to major

Kristensen also mentioned that Astralis went through growing pains as it evolved from a tournament-organizing startup to a publicly traded esports organization. He admitted that at the time, Astralis players were “far ahead” in terms of salaries and recognition, thanks to their Major wins and global branding.
