During the Halo World Championship on October 24, Microsoft may announce that the iconic Halo franchise is coming to PlayStation 5 — a groundbreaking move that would mark the first time a Halo title appears on a Sony console.

This potential reveal was hinted at by well-known dataminer grunt.api, who shared an image featuring the PS5 logo and referenced the upcoming event. Insider Rebs Gaming later clarified that the announcement is likely about a new Halo game — possibly a remake of the legendary Halo: Combat Evolved.

This leak seems credible given Microsoft’s recent trend of releasing former Xbox exclusives on other platforms, including Sea of Thieves, Pentiment, Gears of War, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. The shift has caused concern among longtime Halo fans, who see the series as a defining symbol of Xbox.

Many fear that a PS5 release could dilute Halo’s identity, transforming it from a console-defining franchise into just another cross-platform shooter.
