Microsoft has announced a second price increase for its Xbox Series consoles in the United States this year. Starting October 3, 2025, the cost of several models will be going up due to rising tariffs, supply chain expenses, and broad economic uncertainty.

New prices:
- Xbox Series S (1 TB) – $399.99 (up $20)
- Xbox Series X (standard model) – $649.99 (up $50)
- Xbox Series X 2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition – $799.99
The company explained that a combination of rising tariffs on imported electronics, higher production and distribution costs, and broader economic uncertainty forced its hand. This marks the second major Xbox price adjustment in 2025, following an earlier global increase in May.
For U.S. gamers, the move makes Xbox one of the most expensive console options on the market. The $799 price tag for the 2TB special edition in particular drew sharp reactions online, with some pointing out that it now rivals high-end gaming PCs and makes Sony’s rumored PS5 Pro look more affordable by comparison.
