The International 2025 Sets New Height: Third Highest Viewership in Dota 2 History

The International 2025, hosted in Hamburg, Germany from September 4 to 14, has emerged as the third most-watched event in Dota 2 history, according to Esports Charts. The annual flagship tournament featured 16 elite teams battling for a prize pool exceeding $2.7 million.

During the Grand Final between Xtreme Gaming and Team Falcons, viewership peaked at 1,784,879—marking a significant jump over last year’s peak of 1,513,877. Average viewers also rose, hitting approximately 581,031, with over 63 million hours watched across more than 108 hours of broadcast.

Twitch was the dominant platform, garnering a peak viewership of over 1.2 million. The most popular individual stream was in CIS, with Aleksandr “Nix” Levin drawing around 908,766 peak viewers; his own broadcast peaked at ~396,265.

In the historical rankings: TI 2025 surpassed TI 2024 in all major viewership metrics, and now only TI 2021 and TI 2019 stand ahead in terms of peak audience. Valve has already confirmed that The International returns in 2026 in Shanghai, China.
